Cornerstone Church based in Clayton NC, is focused on engaging and serving
the community by expressing Christ’s love through words and actions.
  • WE BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; the third day He rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
  • WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, the church as the body of Christ made up of believers in Jesus Christ, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
  • WE BELIEVE that salvation comes by confession of sin and faith in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, to believe in the heart that Jesus died and rose from the dead, and to proclaim with the mouth that He is Lord.
  • WE BELIEVE the Old and New Testaments to be the infallible Word of God; inerrant as originally given, verbally inspired by God, the complete and sufficient revelation of His will for salvation and conduct.
  • WE BELIEVE in the Great Commission; to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the uttermost parts of the earth. Amen.
Steven Hepting, Senior Pastor
Steven Hepting founded Cornerstone Church, formerly known as Cornerstone Faith Fellowship, in Clayton, North Carolina in 2007, spurred by a vision of effectively empowering and multiplying leaders and growing a vibrant congregation of people to develop personally and spiritually as they follow the plan of God for their lives.

Cornerstone’s first service was held in the sunroom of a Clayton home with 20 people in attendance. Growth of the congregation made it necessary for Cornerstone to find a new home, at which time the church moved to the Fayetteville Station on Highway 70 in Clayton, North Carolina.

Pastor Steven graduated from Elim Bible Institute (Lima, New York) with an emphasis in Biblical Studies. His passion is to equip the Church in biblical truth in these last days. Jesus said, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.”

Garrietta leads the Women’s Ministry, bringing women together to walk through God’s word and experience His loving grace and mercy.  During her nineteen years in the criminal justice field, she provided direct services to victims of violent crimes which allowed her the opportunity to minister to individuals and families in the moment of their greatest need.   As well, she strives to minister to women through the compassion and understanding she has gained through challenging life experiences.   Garrietta encourages women to have an intimate relationship with God the Father and find their purpose for which God created them.  Garrietta married her husband, Ben, in 2005 and joined him in his construction company in 2015.  Their marriage is a testament of trusting, surviving and surrendering to God.   Garrietta authors a blog, Under the Barnwood Ceiling.
